Major Lazer has the most EPIC videos on the planet

Keep it Going f/ Nina Sky & Ricky Blaze

Pon De Floor f/ Vybz Kartel

CAJMERE "PERCOLATOR" (Major Lazer 'Percumajor' Remix)

All hail Diplo

Freeway and Jake One are back

I am a New Yorker (via New Jersey) at heart, but Philly will forever be my second home. I can't lie, I just feel the vibe of the town: grimey, yet smooth. With that being said, one of my favorite MCs, Freeway, is coming back with the follow up to his excellent 2010 LP The Stimulus Package (Co-Staring producer Jake-One), Beautiful Music . Check out the visual:

Freeway's Diamond in the Rough LP is coming soon on Rhymesayers Records.

Smoke DZA... In case you missed it

As a fan of Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, Devin the Dude and a host of many other stoner MCs, I was instantly curious about Smoke DZAs mixtape George Kush the Button . If you haven't heard the tape, PLEASE check it out HERE.

I was pleased to discover that DZA is re-releasing the mixtape with additional tracks, and more funny interludes about things that tend to happen at 4:20 in the afternoon. Here is one of the new tracks, Crazy Glue, featuring Cory Gunz and Big Saint. Big KRIT on the track, by the way.

UNSIGNED HYPE- Modern Rivals

Meet Mickey, Alex, John, Alex, Alice and Erick... The Modern Rivals.

An upstart Indie Rock band from here in New York City. I've seen them perform at the Delancy a while ago and they're pretty amazing. Their sound is very electronic, yet clean and bluesy.

What other band do you know with a violinist? Yea, I thought so, NONE!

Check out their Band Camp Page which also contains the link to their free EP, which is so dope that it comes with a free trip to rehab (okay, that was really bad, but honestly, the EP is great).

Also look for the band on Facebook and Myspace.

Hipster Rappers >> Your Favorite Rappers

In my hiatus, I had some time to take my love for music to some really strange places... I mean really strange.

Das Racists - Combination Pizza Hut Taco Bell

If that doesn't draw you in, I don't know what will.

Meet Das Racists, two Wesleyan University graduates who eloquently describe their music as "dance music, that doesn't talk about dancey things"... more like dance music, that doesn't talk about anything, guys.

Honestly, I have NO reservations in saying that I throughly enjoy their music. I know they really are not saying... well, anything at all (and definitely nothing dancey, right guys?) . But part of hip-hop is just trying new things and having fun with it, and there's no denying that these two wacky bastards are having a ball with their music. It also doesn't hurt that they are blessed with beats from greats like Dame Grease, Boi 1da (of Young Money fame), and the one and only Diplo. I haven't seen this extreme of a case of musical luck-and-pluck since the last Gucci Mane project (BURR!).

Check out two stand out tracks from their latest opus, Sit Down, Man

Das Racists - You Can Sell Anything (produced by Diplo)

Das Racists - hahahahaha jk (produced by Boi-1da)

Give this a listen, trust me, you will love it. And if you don't well, its a free mixtape, sorry I'm not sorry for making a recommendation... jerk face.

Shout to 2 DopeBoyz for the drop.

E-40 jr. + Sade = WIN

People, meet Earl Stevens Jr. aka Droop E, you may know his father, Earl Stevens Sr... better known as, E-40. The aire apparent to the Bay Area throne recently released a Sade inspired mixtape. I'll admit, his flow isn't the greatest at some points, but the production is really tight on some of the tracks. Definitely worth a download.

Check out this banger, Like a Tattoo

Happy Birthday Lil Wayne

Despite being a ward of the state of the New York, Dwayne Carter just dropped a new EP featuring new songs featuring Wheelchair Jimmy Drake, The Chick with the huge ass and skitsofrenia Nicki Minaj, and the rest of the Young Money roster.

Here's my current fav from the album, With You, featuring some Canadian singer/rapper/actor named Drake:

The album is pretty great, and worth a bittorrent download $11.99. Peep the Link below.

Kanye West- Paranoid

Continuing in his attempts to create images for every song on 808s and Heartbreaks, Fishstick fanatic Kanye West dropped this new video for Paranoid:

First off, yes, that is Rihanna as the featured girl in this video. And yes she looks absolutely amazing. Kind of ironic that she's featured in a song about Paranoid women, when she is on record as being... a paranoid woman. Oh irony, how comical.

Great video and great song, 'nuff said.

New T.I.

Nothing says 'I busted my ass to get arrested, please support my music' like re-releasing your already double platinum album. Lead by this monster single, guest staring Ms. Mary J. Blige, T.I. is blessing his fans with Paper Train: the Case Closed version.

Good song, can't lie. I love how T.I. is just recruiting every AAA R&B singer for all his singles. First Rihanna, then JT, now Mary J. Blige. I think he should change it up for the next single and do a joint with Amy Winehouse, I sure she knows a lil something about being locked up. Too soon??

ENJOY!

Hot song... Video: Not So Much

Rick Ross- Rich Off Cocaine

Man, oh man, Rick Ross is having a great year. Dropped probably the best album of the year so far, Deeper Than Rap, beefed with rap's biggest bully... and won, and survived a tell all big from his angry baby momma. Sticking to the music (because in the end, thats what really matters), this is definately my favorite song on the album. Too bad this video looks like it was made on iMovie in about 20 minutes.

Regardless of the video, or of the validity of Ross' claim to be a cocaine dealer, check out the album if you have yet to do so. Its really a great hip hop album.

Tyga- My Glory

Young Money has done it again. Lil Wayne's biggest fan, Tyga keeps dropping new tunes, and they're actually pretty solid. Check out this banger "No Glory"

Tyga- No Glory

Talk about growth, Tyga has really stepped his game up with lot of his most recent work. I mean, "Coconut Juice" was nice song, but if he keeps up like this, that suggary single will be forgotten very quickly (oh wait, no one remembers it anyway...).

Look for Tyga's new album No Introduction to be released very soon.

Shout to 2 Dope Boyz for the drop.

Money Making Marathon!

The hottest record in the streets (or so I'm told) finally has a video. Check out OJ the Juiceman and Gucci Mane staring in Make the Trap AYE

OJ the Juiceman is probably the most horribly enjoyable rappers since the likes of B.G., Project Pat or Tone Loc. I can't lie, I love this track, and the video is... pretty standard trap material.

AYE!!

Lil Wayne-- Drop from Rebirth

Admit it, while you have been feeling Prom Queen, you asked yourself, "how could one of the best (NOT THE BEST) rappers out right now completely stop rapping?" Well, don't give up on Weezy just yet. Take a listen to this golden nugget from the upcoming Rebirth project.

LIL WAYNE - SPIT (FEATURING KEVIN RUDOLF)

Wow... guess Drake lit a fire under Wayne and showed him people still wanna hear rap music. To be honest, I was not really that excited about Rebirth, because while Prom Queen was pretty solid, it kinda fizzled out faster than Ben Afflect's movie career. I am now cautiously optimistic about what Wayne could do with such creative freedom.

Also, shout out to Kevin Rudolf. While you may not have a career as a solo artist (remember that catchy tune Let it Rock), keep doing hooks like this one and you'll make enough money to buy yourself a new guitar... and wont that be nice??

Great track, keep 'em coming Weezy.

Noise from the Underground- Foreign Exchange

Little Brother member Phonte and Netherlands-bred producer Nicolay teamed up a few years back to form The Foreign Exchange, a collective that is part hip-hop, part jazz, and part soul. Their first album, Connected, dropped back in 2005 on BBE records. Despite the lack of sales and their limited access to the masses, the LP was praised by many Justus League faithful as a smashing success.

Whereas the first LP was more of a hip-hop album, their newest opus is much much smoother and mellow. Honestly, its a great CD to put on after a hard day or when you're trying get your inner-Maxwell on. Phonte has traded his mellow 16 bar flow for a harmonies and rhythm. Think a less depressing, more soulful, non-autotune version of 808s and Heartbreaks.

Enough chatter, check out a cut off the album "Take Off the Blues" f/ Darien Brockington

The Foreign Exchange feat. Darien Brockington - "Take Off The Blues" from The Foreign Exchange on Vimeo.

Soooooo soulful, don't you agree??

Leave It All Behind is in stores and online now. Support good music.

Fresh New Music-- Clipse F/ Kanye West

Mailce and Pusha T are back minus their signature Neptunes sound. Either way, this new joint is a monster. Shout to Kanye for posting this on his blog, and dropping a great verse.

Check out CLIPSE - KINDA A BIG DEAL F/ KANYE WEST

Shout to Miss Info for the drop.

New Artists to check for in 2009-- Chester French

If I told you that these two Harvard Grads were singer/rappers signed to Star Trak Records, and backed by music powerhouses like Pharrell and Clinton Sparks, would you believe me? First off, don't ever question me, I am infallible. But more importantly, the afformented is correct. Meet Chester French, a band that has to be heard to be believed.

Check out this banger, "No Parents" f/ Kardinal Offishal and N.O.R.E

Chester French- No Parents

If you've been under a rock, or if you've been waiting for me to be a fulltime blogger, you might have missed Chester French's phenomenal mixtape Jacque Jams Vol. 1: Endurance hosted by Clinton Sparks.

Chester French - Jacques Jams Vol. 1: Endurance

Chester French's album drops tomorrow, make sure you get that. I think its gonna be big.
